The Second Annual Republican Committee of Chester County (RCCC) Toy Drive to benefit the families of patients at the Coatesville Veterans Affairs Medical Center concluded with more than 125 items were delivered.
The party’s charitable community outreach group, Charis, is led by director David Sommers.
“This is the second year for the RCCC VA Toy Drive. It is one of the most unique Christmas collections in Chester County in that it helps veterans’ families specifically with their toy lists,” said Sommers.
VA Chief of Voluntary Services, Jennifer Lilly, provided the Republican Committee with a list that included the veteran’s name, the name of the child for which the gift is to be given, and the specific item requested. Organizers and committee members, along with RCCC Chairman Dr. Raffi Terzian, met with representatives of the Coatesville Veterans Affairs Medical Center to deliver the gifts that the children and grandchildren of the hospitalized veterans requested.
Dr. Terzian stated, “We are happy to support the veterans and the Coatesville VA during the holiday season and throughout the year. We are grateful to have forged a strong relationship and look forward to ongoing support in the future with the clothing drive next summer.”
Both committee and community members came together to donate a little to help those who sacrificed so much. The Coatesville VA Medical Center strives to provide excellent healthcare for America’s veterans, honoring them by improving their health and well-being. The Coatesville VA Medical Center will receive an annual donation from this committee but needs assistance year-round.
You can donate either monetarily or by providing items on their wish list.
