From a press release

Hotel West & Main has opened as the first new hotel in Conshohocken in 22 years, completing Keystone Development + Investment’s transformational $340 million SORA West development.

Keystone partnered with Concord Hospitality Enterprises to develop and operate the 127-room boutique hotel as part of the Tapestry Collection by Hilton. The hotel is the final piece of SORA West, a transit-oriented mixed-use project. It encompasses 520,000 sq. ft. and incorporates a new 11-story office tower and the adaptive reuse of a 148-year-old historic firehouse, completely redefining the gateway to this bustling Philadelphia suburb.

“It would have been hard to predict what we see before us today at Conshohocken’s gateway when we bought the site in 2003,” says Keystone Founder and CEO Bill Glazer. “As our shared vision took shape, the strength of our expertise and partnerships put us on a course to develop one of the most transformational projects during one of the most challenging times. We are proud to stand with the community today and marvel at what we’ve created together. It will welcome residents and visitors for generations to come.”

Hotel construction began during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, which prompted Keystone and Concord to redesign plans to reduce the number of rooms and increase amenities. The Hotel West & Main features a rooftop bar and lounge overlooking SORA West’s sweeping plaza for events and live music, as well as meeting spaces equipped with state-of-the-art technology, catering to both business travelers and leisure guests.

The hotel is adjacent to an office tower that houses up to 1,500 AmerisourceBergen employees. The Fortune 10 healthcare giant bucked pandemic trends by relocating its global headquarters to Conshohocken, cutting the ribbon last September on its 429,000-sq.-ft. facility designed by Gensler. The office tower includes tech-enabled conference and business centers and connects to a 12-story public and private parking garage.

The site’s historic firehouse was brought back to life as the gateway to SORA West and physically connects with Hotel West & Main via a first-floor dining experience with an outdoor terrace. The restaurant is known as 1874 Social, honoring the year the Washington Fire Company formed on the site.  And 1874 Social is an all-day social cafe offering an assortment of menus including specialty coffee, breakfast, happy hour, and dinner. Patrons can enjoy both bar and dining services, with lunch service planned to begin in the coming weeks.

The firehouse, which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975, also inspired the second-floor gastropub experience, the Hook & Ladder Skybar. With an elevated chop house and sushi dining experience, Hook & Ladder Skybar’s atmosphere embodies historic features while tying in modern elements to create an exclusive, vintage look and feel.

“The hotel has a classic style and a vibrant personality on its own, and within the context of our larger vision for the downtown Conshohocken gateway, it helps establish an incredibly inviting access point for visitors and business travelers,” says Keystone President and COO Rich Gottlieb.
